Delicious Raw Cacao Energy Smoothie

Thrilled to share my “Delicious Raw Cacao Energy Smoothie” recipe with you today. This smoothie is a staple in my daily wellness routine. I drink it for breakfast every morning and sometimes to satisfy a late-night sweet tooth.

It’s rich in magnesium aka “the master mineral,” which is required for more than 300 metabolic processes within the body including bone health, digestion, energy regulation and ATP conversion, muscle health, mental health, and blood sugar regulation. Magnesium can also play a major role in weight loss and muscle recovery. Experts say that a whopping 85% of Americans are magnesium deficient; so chances are that YOU can benefit from intake of this vital nutrient. Need an energy boost or all around improvement on health? Get some magnesium in your life!

This smoothie also has a handful of spinach and Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides, my secret ingredient for digestive health, skin health, and cellulite reduction. Read more about the health benefits of collagen HERE. It’s worth noting that spinach is one of the best greens to add to your smoothie recipes because it does not change the flavor. And let’s be honest – no one likes a smoothie that tastes like freshly ground dirt.

The recipe also serves a great base for variation, so you’ll be able to take it any direction you choose by adding one or more of the add-ins I’ve listed below. Happy drinking!

Delicious Raw Cacao Energy Smoothie

1 Cup Unsweetened Almond Milk

1 Serving of Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides

1 Cup Spinach

2 Heaping Tablespoons of Raw Cacao Powder

1 Whole Banana

½ Cup of Ice

Optional Add-ins

• A splash of coconut milk or ¼ avocado for better nutrient absorption.

• One or two teaspoons of natural peanut butter.

• Decrease banana to one-half and add ½ cup organic fresh or frozen strawberries.

• One teaspoon of organic moringa powder.

• One teaspoon of cinnamon.

• One or two teaspoons of maple syrup or agave nectar to taste.

Blend well and enjoy.
